Education Equity
Jun – Aug 2021
About The Project
This project has been in the works between MBAE and BU Spark! for two years and has taken on a few different iterations. I worked on this project for two months during the summer of 2021.
Organization Description
The Massachusetts Business Alliance for Education is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that, together with our members, promotes and supports continuous improvement in our schools and innovation that is needed to ensure that EVERY student receives a high-quality education that prepares them for success in college, career, and citizenship.
Problem
To be able to evaluate access inequities within STEM education - this will include opportunities (classes, programs), enrollment numbers (students in class), and advanced courses (honors, AP) - so that the data can tell a story about what the state of STEM looks like in Massachusetts High Schools.
Our Goal
Develop an interactive visualization tool that will showcase STEM education and curriculum access in Massachusetts high schools.
